Enma's Daughters Demo
Prototype originally made for Pixel Art Game Jam.
Latest update: (July 14 2023)
- Redesigned character selection again. Previews of most daughters available in final game are visible (but grayed out). The idea is to have a couple more daughters for the demo
- Switched engine to Gamemaker 2 so the game is now playable from the browser.
- I lied, none of the content stuff I wanted to add in the next update made it. :( Hopefully I can get into doing more regular work on this game, but real life issues got in the way. Most likely the next update will expand the campaign as part of the demo's function is to test out core features and make sure they work before I start adding lots of content, both for the demo and for the final game.
Next Update:
Future updates will be focused on adding basic features, in no particular order:
Campaign -you will have to go through several stages before fighting a boss. You will pick from several options, and each new stage will have bonuses and penalties for more variety.
Upgrades - have not decided how this will happen, likely between fights. I will also focus on having fewer level-ups with more substantial choices compared to similar games. This also includes meta-upgrades.
Hell Verses - Magic activated via spell bar. Various effects.
Weapon Arts - Each daughter will also have a sentient weapon that acts like an un-targetable summon. The weapons will have various charge conditions, and unleash bigger attacks when those are met. They will also have regular attacks they perform on their own.
Daughters -
Functional Enemy Parts - I intend to have 4 base enemies with random parts. Currently the parts don't do anything, but they will. More parts will also be added to the existing Wretched Soul enemy.
Bosses - Have not decided on exact mechanics or what makes them unique, other than being bigger.
Controls:
WASD - movement
R- Reload
Left Mouse - shoot
F2 - return to main menu
M - Mute
H - toggle enemy health bar
